Private Housing

For private housing clients, PCPT have carried out projects ranging from a single house to the masterplanning of large estates for house builders.

The smaller developments and single houses continue to produce some of the most imaginative schemes for the company.  Award winning developments in North Wales, Cumbria and by Richmond Bridge on the Thames have been designed in waterside locations for both holiday and permanent occupation.

Many of the private housing schemes have been developed in redundant sites, sometimes used previously for industry.  For example Port Haverigg in Cumbria, a 200 private residential accommodation units which was awarded ‘The Times’ Conservation Awards - Recreation & Leisure in the Countryside was a former Iron Ore mining site and Millfields/Sedgemoor Park (Bilston) is a development of 600 houses on an old Steelworks site.

PCPT worked in the design team headed by MJP for the Phoenix Initiative in Coventry which was short listed for the Stirling Prize and is currently working on several design-led schemes within Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. PCPT is actively involved in schemes for inner city housing - private and social - involving sensitive new build proposals or the conversion of listed buildings.
