Roquette – Bio-Refinery   Corby, Northamptonshire

Roquette UK Limited

The bio-refinery development is a direct response to national, regional and local planning policies.  As a renewable fuel that offers carbon savings, the production of bioethanol from wheat supplies will support European and national strategies to tackle climate change, in particular the UK’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation, which requires that by 2010 5% of all fuel sold on UK petrol station forecourts will be derived from a renewable energy source.

The bio-refinery development will also lead to a number of beneficial impacts, particularly in relation to the provision of employment and local spending, with an estimated 1400 direct and indirect jobs created/retained.
